On Tuesday 20 July 2004 the rail unions will be holding a national rally and lobby for a publicly owned railway.
RMT are co-operating with ASLEF and TSSA but hope that many passengers will also join them in London.
The programme is:
11.30 Assemble opposite main entrance to the House of Commons, near Westminster Tube
12.30 – 2.00: Lobby your MP
14:00 – 16:00, Rally, Committee Room 14
The rally and lobby will coincide with parliamentary questions to the Secretary of State for Transport and the launch of an independent report, commissioned by the rail unions, into the future of the railways.
The event will be the springboard for the union’s campaign to press for re-nationalisation of the railways in the run-up to the general election.
Union members are being urged to make every effort to attend "this important campaigning event".
