Yorkshire Branch

Welcome to Yorkshire!

The Yorkshire Branch of Railfuture covers railways in the traditional county of Yorkshire and, where appropriate, over the border into adjacent counties. We liaise closely with our Railfuture colleagues in the neighbouring North East, North West, East Midlands and Lincolnshire branches. We welcome members from all Railfuture branches to attend our in-person or online branch fixtures.

The branch seeks to maintain a good working relationship with elected representatives and governing bodies in the region, as well as train operators that serve the area and the wider railway industry.

Branch Meetings

Railfuture Yorkshire Annual General Meeting: Saturday 27th April at 13.00
Priestley Hall, Mill Hill Unitarian Chapel, City Square, LEEDS, LS1 5EB

We are delighted to announce that Chris Jackson, Managing Director of TransPennine Express, has kindly agreed to speak at our AGM and Branch Meeting on 27 April at City Square in Leeds. Chris will be speaking about the transformational changes that are taking place at TPE and outlining some of the company’s plans for the future. Following his presentation, Chris will take questions from the Railfuture audience.

The afternoon will begin at 13.00 with Chris’s presentation, followed after a short break by the AGM at 14.15. We will then move on to the branch meeting where topics for discussion include where we would like to see timetable improvements over the remaining years of the decade, and our infrastructure priorities for the next 10 years. We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an extremely interesting and informative afternoon.

The venue is conveniently situated just five minutes’ walk from Leeds railway station. From the main ticket gates bear left and head past the ticket office, past retail outlets and continue out into City Square. The chapel and hall are over to the right and we are likely to use the entrance to the right of building as last year. Doors open at 12.45 and the meeting closes at 16.00. We do hope to see you in Leeds on 27th April.

Tuesday 30th April at 10.30, online via Zoom
