20 May 2018. Sunday. Significant changes to GTR timetables as first of four phases leading to final December 2019 timetable. Whole network redesigned with increased Thameslink peak service of 18 trains per hour operating through central London. Existing Southern, Gatwick Express and Great Northern services will also change. Initially six Thameslink trains per hour in peaks will break their links and only operate as far as London Bridge or London Blackfriars (from the south), restarting from London King's Cross (from the north), and vice versa, until high capacity signalling infrastructure fully available through central London core section.
