Member Services

Changing your Membership Settings

Railfuture members, supporters, and selected stakeholders receive an issue of our glossy all-colour magazine Railwatch, which may be posted with fliers for conferences, annual draw tickets (to help fund our campaigning), an annual report of our activities. These are always posted out. Members can ask their branch to receive copies of their branch newsletters by e-mail.

We are legally obliged to send our members copies of the annual accounts, notices for the annual general meeting and so on. The postage and printing is expensive and like many other organisations, especially voluntary ones, we seek to keep these costs as low as possible so that we can direct funds to our core objectives - campaigning for better rail services for passengers and freight customers throughout Britain. We ask members to consider whether they would be prepared to receive these legal communications by e-mail instead, or by downloading the document from a web-site by using a link from an e-mail.

Railfuture is a democratic organisation (one member, one vote) and holds elections for its chairman and board of directors. To encourage as many members to vote as possible this can be done online, which saves members from having to pay postage costs.

If you wish to change your settings, please complete the form below. You will need to enter your membership number and the PIN that is supplied on the inside of the cover sheet with Railwatch. Please note: 'supporters' and Railwatch subscribers are not eligible to receive member information, and should not complete this page.

Thank you for helping to keep down our administrative costs by choosing the 'e-mail only' option.

About Railfuture

Railfuture is an independent, voluntary group representing rail users in Britain with 20,000 affiliated and individual members. It is not funded by train companies, political parties or trade unions, and all members have an equal say.

Railfuture campaigns for cheap and convenient rail services for everyone; better links for buses, bikes and pedestrians; policies to get more heavy lorries on to rail; new lines, stations and freight terminals. In short, a better rail service and a bigger rail system for both passengers and freight.

Railfuture is pro-rail but not anti-road or anti-air. However, we campaign for a switch from road and air to rail. We do not interfere in the running of the railway - we campaign for the quality and range of services provided, not how they are delivered. We are the only champion of all rail users.

Railfuture is the campaigning name of the Railway Development Society Ltd.

A not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee.
